Newman's Own Awards $50K to Community Servings; J&J Launches Digital Health Scorecard
The charitable foundation of the Newman's Own food company has awarded a $50,000 grant to Community Servings, a Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts non-profit. The organization will use the funding to develop its "Family Nutrition Initiative," interactive workshops for formerly homeless families around Boston who are transitioning to housing. The grant was made through the foundation's nutrition-focused funding initiative that aims to support new and expanding programs. Newman's Own, founded by the late actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, and its foundation have donated more than $350 million over the past 30 years.
Johnson and Johnson has launched a new, Digital Health Scorecard that works like a credit score for health. it delivers a single number, based out of 100, from the answers to seven questions about health and habits.
