When Roman was five years old he started writing a gratitude diary with his mum, who believed such a task would encourage optimism and gratitude in her son. Roman became aware that he had many things to be thankful for, like his family, his friends and playing all the sports he was so passionate about. In writing about these and other things he was thankful for, Roman discovered that not all children in the world are as lucky as he is, so Roman decided he wanted to help kids who were less fortunate.
Once Roman understood the concept of fundraising, he decided to draw pictures of things he was grateful for, and (with the help of his family and Kampai design) he created a gratitude calendar. Each month contained a picture of what he was grateful for. The calendars sold out, and he managed (with the help of those people who bought his calendar) to raise over $1,000 for a wonderful children's charity called The Girls and Boys Brigade when he was 5 years old. With the help of his parents, Roman came up with the idea of encouraging people to donate just $5, which as Roman says would make everyone a "hero", and so began www.5dollarhero.com.au
Roman would like to help raise $10,000 for the Girls and Boys Brigade.
Roman's ultimate goal is to raise $1 million dollars with for different kids' charities by the time he is 18 years old.
