About the EventEach year, the SUSD Foundation recognizes 2 Scottsdale Unified School District alumni of various ages and backgrounds that recognize their time at SUSD as valuable and a platform for continued success in their respective field. They are inducted into the SUSD Foundation Hall of Excellence by attending the fall Quest for the Best Awards Gala as a guest of the foundation and accept the induction during the event. Many alumni credit SUSD for providing necessary resources that put them on a path to success, or exposing them to leadership that shaped their mindsets, or providing unique programs that were inspirational diving boards into their career choice. While these alumni have taken many different paths in their careers since graduating from SUSD, including politics, sports, medicine, business and entertainment, they all have a common belief that quality education was a pivotal piece of their ability to become successful and share in a passion to inspire…inspire students to appreciate the educational resources they are given and take charge of their future, and inspire community members to support organizations that help students and teachers be their very best even in the worst of economic times.
About the Organization
The Scottsdale Unified School District has 31 schools serving about 24,500 students. More than 3,000 persons are employed by the district, including about 1,550 teachers. The district celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1996. Its boundaries include most, but not all, of the city of Scottsdale, almost all of the town of Paradise Valley, a section of the city of Phoenix and a section of the city of Tempe.
